Balapur Zamindar House Narsingdi

Navin Chandra Saha Zamindar house is located in Balapur village on the banks of Meghna River in Paikchar Union of Narsingdi Sadar Upazila. Zamindar Navin Chandra Saha built this Balapur zamindar house on 320 bigha land . Next to this zamindar house is Meghna Ghat, Navin Chandra Saha built his house around this ghat. The architectural style of this centuries-old traditional manor house is very beautiful and beautiful. Balapur Zamindar Bari is a wonderful place to spend time amidst history and tradition. You will find the unspoiled natural softness and beauty of the Meghna River with a touch of tradition.

Balapur Zamindar Bari is a big house with 103 rooms. Here you will find a one-story building on the north side, a two-story building on the south side, a three-story building on the east side, and a two-story building on the west side. The use of mosaics and tiles on the floor shows how luxurious the house was at that time. The doors and windows are decorated with various charming crafts including flowers and leaves. Each building of this manor house is adorned with charming craftsmanship.

To the west of the zamindar's house there are three well-built pond ghats. The beautifully crafted Durga Puja Mandap shows the nobility and grandeur of this zamindarbari. Two temples of the house still stand as witnesses of the past. At that time there was another beautiful building for the accommodation of guests. Next to this zamindar house, you will find the traditional Balapur Navin Chandra High School built in 1913. There is a big playground in front of this school. The Meghna River is a little far from the house. Legend has it that a ship from Calcutta, India once docked at this wharf. Hence the place is now called Steamerghat. After visiting this zamindar house, you will reach Meghna Bazar after 10-15 minutes walk. A five minute walk from there will take you to the huge Meghna river. If you want, you can go around the Meghna river with a boat.

How to go to Balapur Zamindar house

From in front of Gulistan Central Mosque in Dhaka, you have to go to Madhavadi in Narsingdi by Meghalaya bus first, the fare will be Tk 90. It will cost 30 to 40 taka to go to Madhavadi by local bus. Get down from Madhavadi bus stand and hire a rickshaw to go to Madhavadi Garurhat CNG station. CNG is available from Garurhat CNG station to Balapur Zamindar's house, the fare will be Tk 20 to Tk 30 per person. From the CNG station, board the CNG at Balapur and get down in front of Navin Chandra High School. A 2-3 minute walk from there will take you to the traditional Balapur zamindar house.
